DIY Or Self-Registration

All businesses need to register using BizFile, an electronic registration system by the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA). BizFile is the quickest and most convenient way to register your business. 98% of all registrations are processed within 15 minutes of receiving payment.

Where To Register?

  • Over the Internet
    Log into BizFile at http://www.bizfile.gov.sg and register on your own.

  • Self-help kiosks
    Self-Help Kiosks are available at ACRA:

    8:00am - 5:30pm, Mon - Fri 

You can also register your business online using the Online Business Licensing Service (OBLS). OBLS allows you to register your business online and apply for all the licences & permits you need at one go.

Who Can Self-Register?

  • For registration of sole-proprietorships and partnerships, the person registering must be an owner.

  • For self-incorporation of a company, all the directors, the company secretary and shareholders must be Singapore NRIC holders, Employment Pass holders or Dependant Pass holders.

    • Otherwise, you need to engage a professional service firm to register on your behalf.

    • Professional firms like law firms, accounting firms and corporate secretarial firms and service bureau can be found in the Yellow Pages and Classifieds. You may also want to ask other business owners for referrals and contacts.

What Do I Need?

  • You need to have a SingPass in order to use BizFile.

  • SingPass, which stands for "Singapore Personal Access", lets you sign on and transact with the Government online with a single password.

  • SingPass is available to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, Employment Pass holders and Dependant Pass holders over 15 years old.

  • You can get your SingPass over the counter or online.
