• OBLS is available at http://business.gov.sg/licences.

• OBLS is specially designed to meet the needs of start-ups.
  
  
• If you are an established business, you can also find most of the licences and permits you need.
  
  
• Examples of licence and permits on OBLS:

• Food Shop Licence for retailing food and drinks
• Liquor Licence for selling intoxicating liquor
• Video Licence for selling and distributing CDs, DVDs, etc.

What Is NOT Available On OBLS?

• OBLS does not cover occupational licences (e.g. contact lens practitioners, dentists and pilots).
  
  
• For these, you will need to consult with your lawyer or the organisations that oversee these professions.

What Else Can I Do On OBLS?

• Besides licences and permits, you can also register your business and apply for other Government approvals using OBLS.

Example: Finding The Licences To Import Seafood

Mrs Tan has found an exporter of seafood from Croatia. She would like to import the products and sell them to restaurants in Singapore. She logged into OBLS and searched by keyword for "import seafood" in "Industries/Business Activities". From the search results, she immediately identified the link to "Wholesale of livestock, meat, poultry, eggs and seafood." The explanation of "Wholesale" included import, export and distribute. Clicking on the link, Mrs Tan saw a list of approvals, registrations, licences and permits she had to obtain for her business. OBLS is so comprehensive it even displayed "Company Registration" and "Employment Pass" in addition to the licences she needed to import seafood. From there, Mrs Tan not only learnt about the specific licences she needed, but also the other permits and approvals she might need for her business
