Why Do Angels Invest?
- They invest because they believe in you and your business.
- When your business is profitable, they get a share of the profits proportionate to the shares they own.

Characteristics Of Angels
- Many angels are entrepreneurs themselves and understand the struggles that start-ups face. Angel investors are the best bet for start-ups.
- They are not necessarily millionaires or high net worth individuals. An angel may be your neighbour, family member, friend, business partner, supplier or just someone who is willing to invest in your business.
- Angels not only bring funds, but also their network of contacts. If they are well known, they can also give your business credibility.

Finding Angels
- The best way to find a willing investor is through word-of-mouth.
- Tell your banker, lawyer, friends and business associates you are looking for investors. They may know someone who would like to invest.
- Join chambers of commerce, business groups and trade associations to grow your network.
- Approach matchmakers who specialise in matching angel funds to businesses.
