Singapore is the first country in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to adjust its regulations so that electronics goods traded with other member nations no longer need to be retested or certified.
The move is aimed at increasing inter-ASEAN trade.
The 41 electronics products covered by the agreement include televisions, air conditioners and toasters.
All ASEAN members are expected to align their legislation with the standard by the end of 2011. - TODAY
