The Agency for Science, Technology and Research's (A*STAR) Exploit Technologies has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 6 institutions to form the Technology Transfer Network (TTN), a one-stop technological centre where latest breakthroughs in research and design can be sampled by businesses.
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the technology industry are most likely to benefit as the TTN will create a platform for them to tap into research resources faster and cheaper. Previously, businesses had to shop around as many as 10 schools and research bodies. With TTN, businesses can find information regarding new innovations from all TTN members through the network.
Core activities of the TTN include the transfer of technological expertise between industry professionals, expansion of market reach and penetration through collaborative marketing activities and providing Technology Advisory Services (TAS) to SMEs.
The MOU was signed with Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), Nanyang Technopreneurship Center (NTC), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), Republic Polytechnic (RP), Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP).
