Design Sector Gets S$10M Boost
More funds to help design firms survive global downturn.
 

Designers, design firms and design industry associations will get an additional S$10 million from the DesignSingapore Council to help them tide through the economic crunch.

The revised Design Capability Development Programme (DCDP) will provide grants and co-funding for:

  • overseas marketing and promotion efforts
  • hiring design experts to conduct in-house training
  • participation in design competitions and awards
  • design mentorship and scholarship programmes
  • research to improve product design in education, healthcare and manufacturing

Designers who want to upgrade their skills or get more international exposure can also tap DCDP for:

  • training courses, seminars and workshops
  • overseas internships and school exchange programmes
  • overseas work attachment opportunities
