Transform your warehouse into a licensed warehouse for storing dutiable goods. In licensed warehouses, duty and Goods and Services Tax (GST) are suspended until the goods are released for sale into Singapore.
For who?
- Businesses that manufacture, store, trade in and/or sell dutiable goods.
For what?
- To help businesses improve their cash flow by suspending duty and GST in licensed warehouses.
- Businesses can store their dutiable goods in licensed warehouses until they are removed for sale, export, re-export or transhipment.
How does it work?
- You must obtain a licence from Singapore Customs to turn your ordinary warehouse into a licensed warehouse.
- You need pay an annual fee for the licence.
- For petroleum products, the annual fee is fixed at S$40,000 for both new and existing licensees.
- For non-petroleum products, the fee you pay is determined by whether you are a:
New Licensee
- Fee calculated on the projected potential duty of the maximum storage capacity of your licensed warehouse.
Existing Licensee
- Fee calculated based on the average monthly duty paid previously.
Things to note
- You cannot store petroleum products and/or motor vehicles together with other dutiable goods in the same licensed warehouse.
- Licensees must comply with certain responsibilities such as ensuring appropriate security at the premises.
- Customs may conduct periodic audits, including complete checks on the physical stocks stored in the licensed premises.
- A Bank Guarantee or Insurance Bond must be lodged as security.
