Nominate promising existing or new employees for the National Retail Scholarship.
For who?
- Singapore-registered businesses in the retail sector who wish to groom staff for management positions.
- Current retail employees or individuals in the retail industry who wish to pursue professional retail qualifications (diploma, degree or masters).
For what?
- The scholarship provides funding for retail-related courses offered by The Retail Academy of Singapore in conjunction with the University of Stirling.
- Businesses can nominate or sponsor promising existing or new employees for the scholarship. Individuals can approach their employers to nominate or sponsor their scholarship application.
- Scholarship applicants must meet the eligibility criteria listed on WDA’s website. In a nutshell, applicants should:
- be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.
- be nominated or sponsored by employers.
- meet the University’s entry requirements.
How much?
Things to note
- Degree and Masters scholars will be bonded to the retail industry for two years. There is no bond for Diploma scholars.
- Applications should be sent to the Singapore Retailers Association (SRA). Short-listed applicants will be invited to attend an interview with the National Retail Scholarships Committee.
- 20 scholarships will be offered annually – 6 Diploma, 10 Degree and 4 MBAs. A total of 100 scholarships will be offered for five years from 2007 to 2011.
