Go The Extra Mile For Service (GEMS)

GEMS is a nationwide movement to improve service levels in Singapore.

Aims

  • To raise service levels in Singapore, particularly in the tourism, hospitality, food & beverage, retail and transport industries.

For who?

  • GEMS seeks to encourage everyone – from businessmen to service workers to customers – to play their part in improving Singapore’s service levels.

For what?

  • GEMS organises a whole host of activities and programmes which are aimed at:

    1. Service Leadership – Encouraging employers to take the lead in making service competitiveness their business strategy.

    2. Service Capability – Training service workers to be competent, knowledgeable and effective in their jobs.

    3. Service Mindset – Encouraging Singapore to value careers in services as well as respect and appreciate service workers.

    4. Service in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) – Upgrading service standards of SMEs.

Things to note

  • To get involved with GEMS, you can participate in one of the activities/programmes such as the Customer Centric Initiative (CCI) for Retail.

  • GEMS will also be extended to other sectors, such as finance, logistics and healthcare.
