Fast facts
When do I need this licence?
- You need a Liquor Licence to carry out any of these activities for more than 30 consecutive days:
- To retail intoxicating liquor which is consumed on your premises (e.g. pubs, clubs, discos and hawker stalls)
- To retail and/or wholesale intoxicating liquor that is consumed off your premises (e.g. wine specialty shops, alcohol importers and food caterers)
- If you only intend to sell liquor for a short period of time (1-30 consecutive days), please apply for the Liquor Licence (Temporary) instead.
Types of liquor licences
- There are different types of liquor licences. Each type is for a specific business activity (e.g. wholesale beer). For each activity you wish to carry out, you must get the relevant licence.
| Example: Mr Tan wants to wholesale and retail beer. He will need to apply for both the Wholesale Beer Licence and the Retail Beer Licence. |
- Each type of licence only allows you to sell liquor within permitted hours. If you want to extend the hours, you will need to apply for the Liquor Licence (Extension of Operating Hours).
