The Precision Engineering Workforce Skills Qualification Systems (PE WSQ) is a structured national skills training and certification system for the PE industry.
Aims
- To provide a nationally-recognised certification system for workers in the precision engineering (PE) industry.
- To increase the professionalism in the industry and global competitiveness by raising the skills of workers in the PE industry.
For who?
- Businesses in the PE industry.
For what?
- PE WSQ provides:
- national recognised assessment and certification of workers in the PE industry
- career and skill progression paths for workers in the PE industry
- skill competencies for PE occupations
- You can use PE WSQ in a variety of ways. For instance, you can use PE WSQ to:
- define job competencies which your staff need to achieve
- identify competency gaps and training needs
- design and obtain accreditation for in-house training programmes
- send staff to PE WSQ accredited training programmes
- provide career and skill progression paths for your employees
- assess and certify the skills of your employees
- recruit talent based on their qualifications under PE WSQ
How much?
- PE WSQ provides 3 types of funding:
- Training Cost Support
- Assessment Only Pathway (AOP) Support
- Absentee Payroll
- Funding will be given only for trainees that:
- are sponsored by an employer
- are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents
- attend at least 75% of the training/assessment
