Step-by-Step guide on applying for IPM
Before you apply
- Learn more about IPM on the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore’s (IPOS) website.
- Ensure that your business qualifies.
Contact IPOS or SPRING Singapore if you need help. You can also email IPOS.
- Draw up a plan for your IP project.
The plan can be for Phase 1 and/or Phase 2.
- Contact IPOS to discuss your IP project.
You will need to work closely with IPOS to ensure your business and project qualifies for the grant. Applying for IPM
- If your business and project qualify, IPOS will give you an Application Form.
- Complete and submit the Application Form to IPOS.
Instructions can be found in the Application Form.
- Wait 4 weeks for IPOS to reply.
Do not start on your project until you have received approval from IPOS. Upon successful application
- Receive Letter of Offer from IPOS.
- Accept the Letter of Offer and start on your project.
- Keep proper financial records.
E.g. expenses, invoices, receipts relating to the project.
- Keep proper project records.
E.g. scope, timeline, deliverables, progress reports, project sign-offs, and evaluation reports. Claiming for funds
- Complete your project and pay for all the costs.
The grant is given on a reimbursement basis.
- Fill in the claim form.
IPOS will provide you with the claim form and procedures.
- Submit the claim form together with your financial and project records. All claims must be submitted within 6 months of project completion.
- Wait 4 weeks for IPOS to approve your claims.
- Wait 4 weeks to receive the funds from SPRING.
