For who?
- Singapore-registered arts organisations whose core function is the promotion of the arts.
For what?
- To support the activities of art companies by providing heavily-subsidised facilities for use as rehearsal, administrative and storage space.
How much?
- Subsidies of up to 90% of rental charges levied by Singapore Land Authority (SLA) at selected premises.
- Three types of arts housing facilities are available:
- single-tenanted building housing a single arts group
- multi-tenanted building housing several arts groups and artists of the same or different art forms
- building housing mixture of arts groups and non-arts tenants
Things to note
- Organisations are selected based on having:
- a good track record
- managerial strength
- artistic standard
- level of activity
- growth potential
- need for housing
- merit of planned activities
- commitment to organisational and artistic development
- Tenants will bear all utilities and maintenance costs.
- Properties identified for use under the scheme are usually pre-war shophouses and buildings in designated areas:
