International Business Fellowship (iBF)

Develop your manpower talent with in-depth knowledge of doing business in Central Asia, China, India, Latin America, the Middle East, Russia and Vietnam.

For who?

Singapore-based businesses that have:

  • substantial operations in Singapore (e.g. with regional operations that benefit Singapore) 

  • a credible business plan for existing or future plans to conduct business in the country of training 

Company executives sent for training on iBF funding must meet all of the following criteria:

  • be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • be independent, resourceful, business savvy
  • be interested in learning more about the country, where they will be trained, i.e. Central Asia, China, India, Latin America, the Middle East, Russia or Vietnam  

For what?

  • To support Singapore-based companies in training company executives to acquire business knowledge and build networks in supported markets of Central Asia, China, India, the Middle East, Latin America, Russia and Vietnam.

  • The training programmes supported are:

    1. Postgraduate Programme
      To send senior executives for part-time and full-time study on approved business-related post-graduate programmes at top universities in the supported markets. The training should last no more than 2 years.

    2. Executive Programme
      To send CEOs or senior management on IE-organised short courses at top universities and training institutes, like the Tsinghua University and the Tata Management Training Centre. The training should not exceed 10 days.

Things to note

  • iBF replaced Asian Business Fellowship (ABF) from 10 July 2007.

  • The Market Immersion Programme has been replaced from 1 April 2008 with the International Market Immersion Programme (iMIP) which is not part of iBF.
