Environment Technology Research Programme (ETRP)

Get a grant to undertake Clean Environment research and development (R&D) in waste management.

For who?

  • Singapore-registered companies
  • Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs)
  • Public sector agencies
  • Not-for-profit research entities
  • For-profit research organisations

For what?

  • To award grants on a competitive basis to R&D projects in the areas of energy recovery, materials recovery and special waste treatment.

  • To develop sustainable and cost-efficient waste management solutions for Singapore.

How much?

  • Up to 70% funding of approved direct qualifying cost for Singapore-registered companies and for-profit research organisations.

  • Up to 100% funding of approved direct qualifying cost for IHLs, public sector agencies and not-for-profit research entities.

  • The maximum funding amount is S$2 million for each project.

Things to note

  • Your project should not take more than 3 years.

  • The research activities must be carried out in Singapore.

  • Invitations for submission of proposals are made through calls for Request-For-Proposal (RFP) in January and July every year.

  • The opening and closing dates of RFP calls will be released on NEA’s website.

  • Proposals already funded or being considered for funding by other agencies would not be eligible for ETRP.
