Heritage Industry Incentive Programme (HI2P)

Get a grant for private museum and heritage projects, to upgrade your museum gallery, or develop innovative heritage products and services.

For who?

  • Any Singapore-registered entity in the private sector (e.g. businesses, companies, partnerships, etc.) that wishes to develop heritage projects such as:

    • marketing collaterals for museums
    • cultural publications
    • heritage tours
    • exhibitions
    • research studies on Singapore culture and heritage, etc.

  • Any heritage business in the private sector (e.g. museum) that wishes to improve the capabilities of museum operators.

For what?

  • To drive the development of new and innovative heritage and museum products/events.

  • To create and incubate new and impactful museum and heritage attractions.

  • To encourage private entities in the heritage and museum sector to upgrade their capabilities and export Singapore’s cultural capital abroad, as well as to collaborate in joint projects.

  • You can apply for HI2P to:

    Design and develop marketing collaterals Print brochures, catalogues, VCDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, etc.
    Develop products and programmes Features or promotes Singapore’s museums and heritage, including:

    • books, publications and resource manuals
    • mass media programmes (e.g. radio and television programmes, films, documentaries, etc.)
    • educational kits, workshops and seminars for the public
    • heritage tours in Singapore
    • computer software
    • heritage merchandise (e.g. ornaments, timepieces, T-shirts, etc.)
    Conduct training for your employees Improve your employees’ skills, knowledge and expertise to raise the profile of and generate more interest in your products/services.
    Engage a professional consultant Improve your curatorial expertise, marketing and branding efforts, exhibitions, research and feasibility studies etc.
    Subsidise equipment and material costs Installations and fabrications for both local and overseas exhibitions, shows, displays etc.
    Subsidise costs of participating in overseas exhibitions, conferences and seminars Hotel accommodation costs, airfare, freightage, insurance fees etc.


How much?

  • Up to 50% or S$100,000 (whichever is lower) of development costs for private heritage and museum projects.

Things to note

  • Businesses that already receive regular operational funding from any Government agency cannot apply for HI2P.

  • HI2P will only fund for the first production run for printed marketing collaterals.

  • Advertisement costs (e.g. in newspapers, magazines, television, radio, etc) are not eligible for HI2P funding.

  • There is no limit to the number of HI2P proposals that an organisation can submit. However, each applicant can only receive up to 2 grants per financial year. 

  • Projects must be completed within each financial year.
