Aims

• LEAD funds and assists industry associations who are taking the lead to embark on projects which will result in significant benefits for the whole industry.

For who?

• LEAD supports projects by SPETA that raise the capabilities of the precision engineering (PE) industry.
  
  
• PE businesses can participate in LEAD-supported projects run by SPETA.

For what?

• The funds and assistance SPETA receives under LEAD will be used to:
  
  
  1. Develop business and market opportunities by organising business missions and networking seminars to cultivate partnerships or alliances between local and foreign businesses.
     
     
  2. Provide training courses and seminars to executives, managers and specialists on managing PE companies and tool rooms, latest PE technologies, design and production of automotives, etc.
     
     
  3. Set up a Virtual CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Training Laboratory dedicated to training CNC machinists.
     
     
  4. Provide advisory or consultancy services to PE businesses on tooling design.
     
     
  5. Develop technology applications for PE businesses to collaborate and manage their tooling facilities.
     
     
  6. Spearhead joint industry projects that will increase or create new PE capabilities.

Things to note

• LEAD supports and funds industry associations, not businesses.
  
  
• PE businesses benefit from LEAD by participating in LEAD-supported programmes and services provided by SPETA.
