Do you export chemicals to European Union? Get a grant to engage consultants to help you with the registration of chemicals exported to the EU.

For who?

• All Singapore-registered businesses involved in one or more of the following activities: 
  
  
  • Trading & exporting of chemicals
  • Manufacturing or producing of chemicals
  • Using chemicals as raw material/component in their manufacturing/production process
    
    
• The scheme is applicable only to those intending to register their chemicals with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

For what?

• To help chemicals and related industries comply with the European Union (EU)’s REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) regulation.
  
  
• Under REACH, all manufacturers and importers of chemicals in the EU are required to provide information on the properties and potential risks of substances in their products and register them with the ECHA.
  
  
• To register the chemical substance, businesses are required to submit a technical dossier and proposals for further testing, if relevant.

How much?

• The pilot scheme funds part of the qualifying costs for engaging third party consultants to help you with the preparations for the registration of chemicals with ECHA.

Things to note

• The Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC) Limited is the administrator of this scheme.
  
  
• During application, you will be assessed on the scope of your project proposal, intended registration timelines and how the project will benefit your business.
  
  
• The application deadline is 31 December 2010.
  
  
• You can also get help to comply with REACH from SPRING Singapore’s Export Technical Assistance Centre (ETAC).
