Do you own or manage any buildings or manufacturing facilities? Get a grant to hire an energy consultant to carry out energy consumption studies and identify potential areas for energy efficiency improvement.
For who?
- Singapore-registered businesses in the manufacturing and building sectors.
- Your business qualifies as long as:
- the owner or operator of the facility or building is registered in Singapore
- the facility or building undergoing energy appraisal is located in Singapore
For what?
- To encourage businesses in the manufacturing and building sectors to study their energy consumption and reduce operating costs by making their processes more energy efficient.
- The grant subsidises the cost of hiring expert consultants or an Energy Services Company (ESCO) to carry out a detailed study on your company’s energy consumption (energy appraisal) and identify potential areas for energy efficiency improvement.
How much?
- Up to 50% of the qualifying cost of engaging an expert consultant or Energy Services Company (ESCO), capped at a maximum of S$200,000 per facility or building, over a 5-year period.
- Qualifying costs include energy appraisal fees comprising:
- salaries of the ESCO team conducting the energy audit and analysis, e.g. technicians, engineers, project managers
- use of instrumentation and evaluation tools
- expendables, e.g. materials for the installation/uninstallation of sensors, insulation of pipes, paint work and cabling
- overheads, e.g. consultancy services (drafting, designing, etc.), printing costs and transport expenses
- EASe does not cover any implementation of the recommendations arising from the energy appraisal.
- EASe also does not cover any Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Things to note
- The detailed energy appraisal must not have commenced at the time of application.
- You must not have signed a contract with the ESCO for the detailed energy appraisal at the time of application.
- The appointed expert consultant or ESCO must be a local or foreign company accredited by the Energy Sustainability Unit (ESU) from the School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore.
- Qualified internal teams with good track record in carrying out energy appraisals of comparable scale and scope may also be considered for funding. Evidence of substantial experience in carrying out energy appraisals of the scale and scope intended should be provided.
- Process plants which conduct Efficiency Monitoring are also eligible for funding. This involves long-term monitoring of individual system components and overall systems to identify efficiency degradation.
- All disbursements of grants will be made on a reimbursement basis.
