For who?
MERIT is for Singapore-registered businesses in the maritime industry which have:
- 30% - 100% local shareholding
- 0-200 employees (excluding crew members working on board vessels)*
- fixed assets worth S$0 - S$15M (excluding vessels and crafts)*
- business presence in Singapore, i.e. operating in Singapore

For what?
- To help maritime businesses in Singapore defray the costs of IT projects for modernising and upgrading operations.
- IT projects supported by MERIT may involve:
- automation or computerisation of key business processes
- information management
- connections to electronic business networks
- Examples of IT projects include:
- customer relationship management
- financial management
- fleet management
- human resource management
- inventory management
- ship management
- Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) connections
How much?
- MERIT funds up to 70% of the total IT project cost.
Things to note:
- You can still apply for MERIT if you have received MERIT funds before. However, the last grant you received must be more than 2 years ago.
