Do you need funds for research and development, or test-bedding your maritime technological innovations? TRIDENT funds up to 50% of your project costs.
For who?
- Singapore-incorporated companies who are involved in R&D or test-bedding of maritime technological innovations that can be marketed and sold.
- Foreign companies who own or are developing maritime technological innovations and wish to pilot test their innovations from Singapore.
- Tertiary and research institutions who wish to pilot test maritime technological innovations they own, have access to or are developing. Innovations pilot tested must have the potential to be marketed and sold.
For what?
- To help fund R&D and pilot tests of innovations that are:
- innovative
- technological
- relevant to the maritime industry
- Innovations may be products, processes or applications.
How much?
- MPA will fund up to 50% of qualifying costs for approved projects.
- The funds are given in exchange for rights to intellectual property developed, royalties received from your innovation or equity in your company.
- Qualifying costs are direct costs relating to the project. For example:
- manpower
- equipment
- materials
Things to note
- Foreign companies must be prepared to register the intellectual property rights of their innovations in Singapore after successful pilot tests.
- Tertiary and Research Institutions can only use the funds to conduct pilot tests (test-bedding) from Singapore.
- TRIDENT is part of the S$100 million Maritime Innovation and Technology (MINT) Fund set up for developing maritime technology and R&D capabilities in Singapore.
