SLA Land Sales & Leases

Sale Of State Land

  • The Government regularly releases State land to the private sector for office, retail, industrial and other developments in line with market demand.

  • Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is the agency in charge of Singapore's Land Sales Programme. SLA is responsible for ensuring that all sales of State land are conducted in an open and transparent manner.

  • Agencies appointed as the Government's land sales agents are:

    • Housing & Development Board (HDB)
    • JTC Corporation (JTC)
    • Land Transport Authority (LTA)
    • Singapore Land Authority (SLA)
    • Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)

       
  • State land is usually sold by auction or tender. Tenures typically range from 30 to 99 years, depending on the land use.

Rental Of State Land

  • You can also rent vacant State land from SLA under Temporary Occupation Licences (TOLs).
  • TOLs are generally for a short fixed term or could be on a monthly or yearly renewable basis.
  • You can apply to use vacant State land for a whole range of uses including:

    • worksites
    • site offices
    • temporary structures
    • mini fairs
    • trade expositions
    • carnivals
    • offices
    • schools
    • hospitals, etc.
