For What?

Any sign including any letter, word, name, signature, numeral, device, brand, heading, label, ticket, shape, colour, aspect of packaging or a combination of these.

E.g. Adidas, Singapore Airlines.

Requirements

Any sign capable of being represented graphically and capable of distinguishing goods and services.

Registration Yes. However, trade marks that are not registered may be protected under the common law action of "passing off".
- Fees Registration fees are S$306 per trademark for one class of goods and are paid to IPOS.

Professional fees are charged by the company who is filing the trademark on your behalf. Typical professional fees range from S$500 - S$800 per trade mark for one class of goods.

Term Of Protection

Valid for 10 years from date of application.
Renewable every 10 years.
