When do I need to register?
- You need to register as a trader in order to import/export goods in and out of Singapore. Registered traders are given Central Registration (CR) Numbers which you need to apply for import and export permits.
Who is eligible to register?
- All businesses registered with the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) including sole-proprietors, partnerships and companies.
Who is not eligible to register?
- Individuals cannot register as traders. Please register as a sole-proprietor with ACRA if you wish to register as a trader.
- Societies registered with the Registrar of Societies also cannot register as traders.
What are the registration fees?
- Registration is free and is valid for as long as your company remains in business.
What laws & regulations do I have to comply with before I can register?
- No prior approvals or supporting documents are required.
