    • absentee payroll

  • Your business can also participate in a Place-and-Train programme.

    • NTUC places and trains retrenched or unemployed workers to work in your company.

Employment Agencies

  • Employment agencies or headhunters can help you save time and effort.

    • They have a ready pool of candidates who are looking for jobs.

    • They will sort through resumes, carry out the initial interview with selected candidates and shortlist the ones that meet your needs.

  • Before signing up, check the rates and policies of the agency.

    • Usually, employers need to pay a fee that is pegged to the candidate's salary.

    • If the candidate matched does not work out, some agencies may offer a free replacement or refund, though others have a strictly no-refund policy.

  • Organisers of job fairs include the industry associations and the CDCs.

  • Every year, a major CAREER Exhibition and Seminar is organised by The Singapore Professional Centre (SPC). It draws more than 300,000 visitors each year.

Local Newspapers

  • Running advertisements in local newspapers is a popular way of attracting potential employees.

  • Consider your target audience, budget and timing before you decide where to place your advertisement.

  • You need to allow for 3 - 5 days lead time before a newspaper can publish your advertisement.

Internet Websites

  • There are several websites that cater to the Singapore market.

  • Like newspaper advertising, you have to pay a fee for each job posting placed.

  • Some websites specialise in certain industries e.g. IT and HR. Others focus on recruiting employees for regional positions.
