Laws & Regulations
 Workman's Compensation Act
Protects manual labourers and employees earning less than S$1,600 a month (for accidents occurring before 1 April 2008).
 
 Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA)
Protects all employees in general regardless of how much they earn (for accidents occurring on and after 1 April 2008).
 
 The Employment Act
Protects local and foreign employees except managerial, executive and confidential employees, domestic workers, seamen and Government employees.
 
 Employment Of Foreign Manpower Act
Protects foreign workers with valid Work Permits and earning S$1,500 or less a month in basic wages.
 
 Employment (Part-Time Employees) Regulations
Protects local and foreign part-time employees who work less than 30 hours a week.
 
 Retirement Age Act
No employee, who is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident below the retirement age, can be dismissed on grounds of age.
