What is the SQA?
- The SQA is the highest national award for organisations who have achieved the Business Excellence Standard.
- The SQA is awarded to organisations with management systems and processes that achieve outstanding levels of business excellence in all areas.
- SQA winners are often referred to as “world-class” organisations as the Award is benchmarked against international quality awards such as the:
- Malcolm Bridge National Quality Award
- European Quality Award
- Australian Business Excellence Award
- The SQA is one of the 4 national awards under the Business Excellence Framework.

- You can use the SQA logo on all your collaterals.
- The logo is a mark of exceptional excellence. It shows that your business is a “world-class” organisation with systems and processes that ensure excellence in all the key areas of your business.

How do I apply for the SQA?
- To qualify for the SQA, you must first go through the Singapore Quality Class (SQC) certification. You must score at least 700 points during the certification to be considered for the SQA.
- If you qualify for the SQA, you can apply for the award by submitting the following documents to SPRING Singapore for assessment:
- Application Form (WORD)
- Organisational Chart of your company
- Supporting chart(s) that shows the relationship with the parent organisation and its subsidiaries, if applicable
- Organisational Profile
- 10 sets of Application Report and supporting definition of any terms and abbreviations used
- SPRING Singapore will assign certified assessors to evaluate your systems and processes.
- SQA assessment is based on the criterion found in the Business Excellence Assessment for Continuous Improvement (BEACON) (PDF) self-assessment tool.
- At the end of the assessment process, the Board of Assessors will submit reports to the Management Committee.
- The Management Committee reviews the reports and puts together a list of potential winners for the Governing Council. The Governing Council decides who receives the award.

What Happens After I Receive SQA?
- The SQA is valid for 5 years.
- At the end of 5 years, you must re-apply for the SQA.
